There is a private waiting room, shared with a couple of other psychologists. There is water, coffee, and tea available. Please make yourelf at home while waiting.

There is less pressure around looking someone in the eyes. Moreover, because we are not distracted by visuals, the therapist can actually focus a lot better on your voice, a strong tool in non-verbal communication.
Some people prefer a simple chat. Things might be easier to say in text.
