Therapy

Therapy is a safe space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges with professional support.

Rosien tailors sessions to your needs, using approaches like:

  • Client-Centered
  • CBT & Schema Therapy
  • Emotion-Focused & ACT
  • Cognitive Processing Therapy
  • Art Therapy

You can access rebates for therapy sessions through Medicare with a Mental Health Care Plan or via private health insurance, depending on your provider and coverage.

Assessments

You can book assessments for:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Cognitive Assessments / IQ Testing
  • Pre-Employment Psychological Testing
  • General Psychological Assessments

Assessment Fees

Fees vary depending on the type of assessment, but often include 4 sessions plus 2 hour report writing, at 240 per hour.

Assessments are usually not covered by Medicare or private health insurance.

Therapy

Assessments for children and teenagers differ from those for adults because we need to consider developmental stages, school environment, and family dynamics.

For children up to 12 years old, the first session will be parents only to discuss concerns and history. Teenagers (12+) can attend the intake session alone if they prefer, but parental involvement can be arranged as needed.

Children in Australia can also access rebates for therapy sessions. Medicare rebates are available with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from a GP, paediatrician, or psychiatrist. Private health insurance may also cover therapy sessions, depending on the provider and level of cover.

Why go to therapy?

You don’t need to have a mental illness to benefit from therapy. Therapy can support personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. It helps with stress, relationships, decision-making, and building a more fulfilling life. Whether you're facing challenges or simply want to understand yourself better, therapy can be a valuable tool for personal development.

Therapy can also help you with:

Self-Esteem

How you see yourself shapes every aspect of your mental well-being.

We often push ourselves to achieve more, yet struggle to feel proud of what we've already accomplished. When nothing ever feels "good enough," self-esteem can take a hit.

Building a healthy sense of self-worth helps you move through life with confidence and ease.

Grief

Loss comes in many forms, and no matter how it happens, it shakes our world.

Grief and loss counselling helps process emotions that often get stuck when we try to suppress them. Society tells us to "move on," but healing requires time and space.

Sometimes, life needs to pause so we can honour our loss and find a way forward.

Anxiety

Anxiety spreads like wildfire—it takes hold, keeps you up at night, and makes it hard to focus or feel at ease.

The good news? Anxiety is treatable.
CBT is highly effective, often helping within just a few sessions. Your fears are valid, but they don’t have to control your life.

Depression

"Depression is a transition period," a professor once told me.

It can feel like a loss of identity—an in-between space where the old self is fading, but the new self hasn’t fully emerged.

As the saying goes:
"When you're in a dark tunnel, it's not the moment to stop walking."

With the right support, there is a way through.

Eating Disorders

Common eating disorders include:

  • Anorexia
  • Bulimia
  • Binge Eating
  • Orthorexia

Though each is different, they often share struggles with body image, self-worth, control, and unprocessed trauma. The right treatment can help rebuild a healthier relationship with food, body, and self.
